upcoming projects and news

Due to some issues going on in my personal life, I'll be pushing back the next few book releases. I simply don't have time to write currently, and I'm in a huge transition in my life, so for now, I'll say everything will pushed back a month or two. So, here's my future tentative schedule:

Catching Vapor book 2 from the Slick as Ides series -- end of February
Sparing Amy  book 2 from the SHROAG series -- end of April
Book of Asa -- end of June

The biggest news I have though is I'm actually hoping to produce another BDSM story with an online romance in March, and it will be co-written with a Dom. The title is From Behind, and a lot of it is based on real life experiences. I'm so excited about this story, I can barely stand it!

That's it for now. I hope to get back to writing and publishing soon, but for now, I'll be taking a break for a few weeks so I can deal with my personal life and family.

Happy New Year everyone! I plan to spend mine dreaming about this Dom of mine I'll be sharing hopefully very soon...

Pearl on Cherry is now live!

It's finally here! That sexy story about what a rudimentary Dom near the turn of the century in New York City might have been like!

“That’s it . . . You are wet and inviting for me—my soft, treasured girl. Like a juicy cherry—dripping when pierced, then laid over the tongue.”

Pearl on Cherry ARCs have all gone out...

ARCs for Pearl on Cherry have all gone out. If you're interested in being an ARC reviewer, let me know.... Here's the summary:

Clarissa Stone never thought she had a chance to make it on stage, but a strike in 1907 at the music hall in New York City opens up a door, and she races to it. The path isn't easy, and especially not after catching the eye of William Berling Ferrismore III. Money and power have gone to his head, and he uses that to his advantage, sating his sexual appetite with the women on stage. Clarissa won't be caught so easy, but William doesn't play by the rules. How can she prove her worth as an actress with his defaming ways?

“Quiet. Wait ‘til I have you in the motorcar, then you may speak freely,” he told her, helping her into his vehicle.
“Do you even know how to drive?” she asked when he was at her side.
“I drive this motorcar the way you drive me mad—with precision and a punishing force.”
She gulped and took to holding her wobbling knees.
“Tell me now—you will not leave, will you? Once I have you in my home, you will not desert me?”
“Why would I? Unless you mean to massacre me.” She chuckled, and it was nervous sounding.
Probably because the butterflies dancing in her stomach had taken to other parts of her body.
“I mean to devour you, lick you in the basest places and dig my fingers into you. I think you can withstand it—my cherry girl is built for my onslaught.”
She sucked in a tight breath, her abdomen caving in with the action.
“What if I taste wretched and am unflattering on the tongue?”
He laughed, and it was unsettling how free he sounded over these vulgar things they were discussing. And why did she want more of this type of talk?
“Oh, little cherry, how you amuse me. Have you forgotten so soon I have already had your cream on my taste buds? It still lingers and drives me to distraction. I want that flavor coated on my cock.”
“Oh, almighty Jesus,” she whispered under her failing breath.
“Oh, yes, I shall have it, too. Before you sleep this night, you shall do exactly what I say.”
She gripped her knees harder. They were close to shaking—her hands were not much steadier.
“I shall not request your obedience—I shall earn it and demand it. In return, you shall have unending adoration flung at your feet as I worship your gorgeous body built for my hands to explore. I shall respect you, find every way possible to keep you happy, but you will be mine, and you will submit,” he said, his Adam’s apple bobbing as he swallowed hard.
His voice was hoarse, and his hands clung to the steering wheel. The pulse at his neck was visibly racing.
“When you say these things to me—do you expect me to respond?”
“Yes, but not with words. Those are unnecessary. I already know how you feel. I can taste it in the air surrounding me. I can hear it in your exaggerated breathing and in the grip on your legs. You are ready to drip at my command. And I can barely wait to give that order.” He turned to look at her, and she froze. “You may use words right now if you wish, though. So, say it . . .”
“Say what?”
“Say you are afraid of me. That you think me an unholy bastard. That you want to run right this instant and flee my wicked presence and salty tongue.” He turned his head back to the road, but she could still feel him watching her out of the side of his eye.
“If I said any of those things, would you believe them? And would it even matter? It is not as if you would take me back home,” she said.
The car jolted to a stop. He turned at the waist and braced her with his grip on her shoulders. “I will never take you against your will. Never. I am not about that. I want you to want this, too. I want your body vibrating with excitement and unadulterated bliss. I will find a way to get those reactions from you if it forces me to rip my bones out of my body. That is how committed I am to you.”
She dropped her gaze at his lap. She did not mean to. Her eyes just went there to his prominent bulge.
“Do you desire me that much?” She kept staring.
“I desire you more than a man should. You”—he swallowed hard—“will be my unending addiction I shall never break free from.”

CONTENT WARNING — This story contains scenes of an explicit, erotic nature and is intended for adults, 18+. Story includes anal sex (use of implements in the anus as makeshift butt plug toys), bondage, crude language, dubious consent and a primitive type of Dom/sub arrangement involving consensual sex. There is mention of rape and abortion—both more than once, but it is not shown. There is an attempted, unsuccessful rape scene that is thwarted. There are also punishment scenes with whipping and spanking some might find offensive, along with violence with fist fights. Characters portrayed are 18 or older.

But what does a man do when he needs physical contact to survive, but can't stand the burning pain that comes with another's touch? He’s found a way to get a small fraction of his needs met at the nightclub, Sleeves. What happens when he lets in an unknown woman with a healing hand? Casey can see past the vulgar mouth to the affection-starved man hiding inside. When she does, all hell breaks loose, and the past finds him. Will he be able to avoid the agency, or will they add Casey to their twisted experiments? She entered the cage with him, and now it seems there's no way out.

Slick as Ides (scifi erotica) http://bit.ly/SlickAsIdes

Only he’s no vagrant. He’s a computer hacking genius, too, and her competition. Curses along with inhibitions—fly out the window and through the phone when he calls repeatedly to harasses her. An offer from a man she's avoided, a man that was her husband’s best friend, may be the only thing that can bring light back into her life. Mark isn't like most men. His dominant nature helps him see a different side of Jeanie—a submissive woman with a deep capacity to love and please a man. But having a relationship with him so soon after her husband’s death causes strife with her in-laws—the only family she knows. Seducing Anne final teaser

Tomorrow Seducing Anne goes live, so this is your final teaser!

Guy and Anne from chapter 13:

Once at her firm, round ass cheeks, he nibbled them, then swaaaat!
“Oh God!” Her backside thrust toward him in the air.

His hand tingled. He did it again.

Swaaaat!

“I shall bind you. I shall fuck you. I shall tear into you. And you will cry out for more. I shall tease you endlessly until all you know is your sir before you. Understand?” His teeth dug into the upper swell of her ass.

*My final favorite quote...*

Henry had her on edge—Guy had her on the edge of sin.

Seducing Anne Teaser 9

Guy and Anne in chapter 13:

“You would like that—would you not? Me using my mouth alone to strip you bare. To expose you to my wicked tongue and teeth that want to sink into you and savor your flesh.” He growled and caged her in, trapping her with his thighs, hovering his mouth above her right shoulder.
“How hard would you bite me?”

“Enough the pain would melt right through you and turn into pure ecstasy. You would cry out for more,” he replied with a low rasp.

“Oh, my God in Heaven—I want that. Please . . .” She stretched her neck back, exposing her throat to him.

Seducing Anne Teaser 8

Guy and Anne in chapter 11:

“I may not even get to the claret. Already I want to fuck you on the cold hard floor.”
“I am for that. You have been away from me for a sennight. I thought you had set me aside.”

He grabbed her and picked her up, dragging her back to the bedchamber.

“You and your sennight are laying down on this bed and are going to receive me. All of me.” He stroked his cock over his breeches.

Seducing Anne Teaser 7

Guy and Anne in chapter 11:

“You please me. By God—how you please me so much I want to fuck you right here in front of that blonde lump of a bore.”
“She may learn something.” She giggled and glanced over his shoulder at Jane, watching them.

Well, watching Moore, not Anne.

“Why does that image incite me to dangerous levels of lust? I am spellbound by the thought of it.” She licked across her bottom lip at the inner seam.

“It excites you because it would be me doing the taking, you doing the offering and her seeing what a real woman is made of when a real man is taking what is his God-given right. Christ, I love you. I want to drench you in kisses and my come.”

“Go now before I flush redder than my crimson dress you complimented me on so long ago.”

He sniffed at her hair. “Fuck—you torture me by smelling so delectable. Wear the red dress tonight, but do not expect it to survive my savage hands. You have had time for your tissues to repair—that means I fuck you hard tonight, and you do not get a light petting.”

Seducing Anne Teaser 6

Guy and Anne from chapter 10:

When he had some of the sloppy remains of the fruit in his bowl and splotches of various shades of red all over the linens, he growled, “You are red and swollen for me in every way I like. Spread for me, darling, and take what is yours and what you need.”
Her heart rate spiked, and she did as he requested, using her palms to stretch her legs as wide as they would go.

He lifted her ankles and put them up on his shoulders. “I shall go slow tonight since I suspect you are still tender from last night, but in a few days’ time, I will not hold back. You shall have the full force of me, and receive it like a woman desiring to breed.”

Seducing Anne Teaser 5

Guy and Anne in chapter 10:

“Your language, Guy. I do not always understand it.”
He wrapped his top leg over hers, trapping her. “And you do not need to. All you concern yourself with is what?”

“You and your pleasure.”

“That is right, lavender. Keep smelling this good, and being this soft, and I will always be pleased to hold you to my chest this way. Mmm . . . So delicious and sweet, but you cannot go yet. My fingers are not yet nearly sticky enough with your dried-on come, and your taste has left my tongue.”

Seducing Anne Teaser 4

Anne speaking to Guy in chapter 9:

"The roughness”—she ran the backs of her fingers up his prickly cheek—“the softness”—her fingers flipped over and the tips dragged down over his lips and down to the dip in his chin she remembered—“and everything in between.” She feathered her lips across his.

Seducing Anne Teaser 3

Guy and Anne from chapter 6:

“I want to kiss you, little lavender. You may need to walk further away if you do not wish to be taken in my arms,” he warned.
“I am a brave soul, and I am betting I can handle you when you cannot even walk straight.” She snickered, walking with her head held high.

“I will give you straight.” He shoved her up against the garden wall. “You do not have to kiss me back, but I will taste you.” He bent his knees, was unsteady for a moment, but managed to remain locked in place as he inhaled at her neck, brushed his lips over her pulse in her throat. “Smell so goddamn good. You weaken me, and pull at my senses, begging me to taste”—he traced a line with the tip of his tongue along her pulse-point—“suck and mark you. Would you were mine, and I did not have to show you what a pig that king is.”

“Douche,” she whimpered, and her body trembled as her breath hitched.

“Please tell me you refer to him and not me.”

She chuckled under her breath. “I will allow you to ascertain the answer to that yourself.”

He bit her neck, growled and then let go. “No. Tell me yourself. We are not to play that game.”

“But you can lick and bite me at will?”

He shook his head. “Have I harmed you?”

Seducing Anne Teaser 2

Guy and Anne in chapter 4:

“Then, get you atop my noble steed, little lavender. I have a need to ride with you nestled up against me.”

Her face morphed into a naughty smile. “You have a need?” Her eyes darkened and went heavy.

“Good Lord, woman—I have so many needs around you, it is a sickness that cannot be helped.”

“I can help remedy it,” she said, hopping as he helped her onto the horse.

“Do not tempt me, little girl. I have better control than most, but even I have my breaking point.”

Seducing Anne Teaser #1

Today I finished my final proofreading of Seducing Anne, and it'll be published one week from today. So, let the teasers begin!

Guy and Anne, conversing. Chapter 4:

“Is it not divine? The food is extraordinary. The smell is heavenly—rather like you.” He scooted his chair closer to hers. “And you look entirely edible and smell even better. I have lost my appetite as well, but for a different reason. I care not that the king dislikes me, for I have a stunning dove at my side. You, lady, are a rare gem—so beautiful you so move me to keep from blinking for fear I might miss a moment of gazing at you.”
She gasped and whispered so quietly he barely heard her saying, “Too bold.”
“Too true.” He reached over, grabbed a piece of her meat and placed it at her lips. “I will feed you then.”
“Sir?”
“Bite, Anne. I take care of you, and it pleases me. Eat.”

Pearl on Cherry ARCs coming soon...

Great news! I finished writing my historical erotica Pearl on Cherry, set in New York City, 1907 with my rudimentary Dom and his feisty Cherry girl.

It's final word count with all the front and back matter is 103K with 23 chapters in total.

I'll be doing the proofreading tomorrow and Friday and then it will be sent to my editors and pre-readers. I'm aiming for ARCs to go out around December 3rd.

Here's the summary if you want to decide if you'd be interested in being an ARC reviewer:

Clarissa Stone never thought she had a chance to make it on stage, but a strike in 1907 at the music hall in New York City opens up a door, and Clarissa races to it. The path isn't easy, and especially not after catching the eye of William Berling Ferrismore III. Money and power have gone to his head and he uses that to his advantage, sating his sexual appetite with the women on stage. Clarissa won't be caught so easy, but William doesn't play by the rules. news for Seducing Anne

ARCs have gone out today for Seducing Anne: A SHROAG Novel, but I'll be sending out more during the week, so if you'd like to have one, please let me know...

In other news for Seducing Anne, the publication date has been pushed back a week to November 29th, 2013 so there will be plenty of time for the book blog tour and for ARC reviewers to read it and leave their reviews.

If you're interested in participating in the cover reveal set for November 4th, here's the link for the form: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1hnrV5W0XMQzBQnQiu8QCjRY6l2BL13psHKnJbCiuAV8/viewform

I really can't believe I'll finally be publishing this book. This story has been rolling around in my head for three years now, and now that it's completed, I can barely believe it. I'm excited to get the sequel written and ready for my readers as well.

Nicholas Carew has taken up residence in my head now, and he's ready to share his story with me, and in turn with you. See how lucky you are? ;D

CALLING ALL TUDOR FANS!

Are you a fan of the Tudors? Did you wish like I did that someone had been there to save Anne Boleyn? What if there had been? And what if that man was trained as an aggressive
Dominant and wasn't supposed to save her, only impregnate her with Queen Elizabeth I? What if he fell in love with her, and he decided to hell with his orders?

If you're like me--you devoured the Tudor's series on cable TV and never could get over Anne's premature death and you adore BDSM romance novels--then Seducing Anne: A SHROAG Novel, is the book for you.

I'm still taking more ARC reviewers, so if you'd like to be one of them, let me know. In the meantime, here's a teaser for Seducing Anne, so you let it simmer a while...

Excerpt from Chapter 7 with Guy and Anne in her holyday closet:

This was where she poured out her heart to God.
Exactly what Guy professed he wanted her to do to him. But how could she? If he knew what a sinner she was, what she wanted to do to that body of his, he would know she was unworthy of being at court at all.

Never mind the Chapel Royal. She went to confession yesterday, but she failed to mention she burned inside for this man, rather than her betrothed—His Majesty.

Guy set his palm across the alter, and she gasped, choking on her breath. The sight of his hand there made her nipples tighten and her breasts go heavy.

“Lord help me,” she whispered to herself, her eyelids going heavy.

“Come here, my precious flower. I want to inhale your scent while stitched bowers of lavender are overhead. It might be the closest I will ever get to Heaven.” Guy patted the alter.

Her knees almost buckled, but somehow her feet carried her forth.

“You intend to smell me?”

“Yes. And other things as well. But you do not need to know what I intend. I still want to know what Henry has said and done to you that has harmed my girl.” He lifted his hand that had been almost lovingly stroking her furniture of worship, and he crooked his index finger, beckoning her over to him.

Evidently she was moving too slowly for his liking.

She smiled, but her lips twitched with nerves, and her breathing went ragged at the hungry look he was giving her.

“Tell me, little lavender, what sins the King has to atone for. Confess to me—here and now.” He reached for her and set her against the alter, trapping her as he wrapped his thighs around hers.

“Only God can judge a person’s soul. I have neither the heart nor mind to determine what he has done to sin against his Maker.” She shrugged, then set her palms on his chest, focusing on the silver laces of his black velvet doublet.

“You smell too good to be true. My own personal angel with the scent of flowering fields.” He bent his head down and inhaled deeply at her neck.

For some reason she could not explain, her neck tipped back and she made this tiny gasping moan.

His fingers ghosted over her throat, even pinched a little, then he cupped the back of her head and brought her back so she was face-to-face with him. He rubbed the tip of his nose alongside hers.

“Tell me what he does that you dislike. No one else will hear. The music is playing in the chapel and wafting in through your window.” His eyes burned into hers.

“He says I am to gullible too believe you have good intentions. He yelled at me when I said you were neither a rake nor a fortune seeker. You have not once tried to advance your station, and after being here nearly two weeks, that is unheard of!” She slapped her palms on his chest.

“What else? He has done more than yell. Did he touch you?” His eyes narrowed, and he bared his teeth for a brief moment.

“Yes.” Her eyes drifted down to his laces below his Adam’s apple. She reached up and ran the back of her index finger knuckle across it, and then watched mesmerized a moment later. He wore stubble, which was not the fashion. She marveled at the masculine roughness of it and how it called out to her, taking her breath away. His throat bobbed, and she was struck immediately at how his Adam’s apple was more prominent than Harry’s and how Guy had some dark, seductive chest hair, peeking up through the slit of his collar.

It made her dry mouth decide to water.

Why was she so transfixed by this dark Vulcan before her? Must he be so beautiful and enticing—like a dark promise of erotic delights?

Her breath caught in her throat when he growled at her touch.

She jerked her hand off his neck.

“Place your hands on my chest,” he said.

“Yes, Sir.” She placed them both flat as he asked.

“How did he touch you after you argued?”

“H-he . . .” Her voice shook, and her cheeks heated. “I . . . cannot speak of such private matters.”

“Little one, it is Guy before you. No one else will hear. Tell me. I need to know.” He dropped a kiss to her forehead.

“He touched my duckies,” she said, cringing. Guy disliked that word, and she could understand why. It was very childish and crude-sounding.

“How?”

“My lord?” Her eyes shot to his as she questioned his meaning. Surely he did not expect her to recount the sordid event in detail?

“Show me how he did it. I must have the facts.” He blinked with a stern set to his brow, but his eyes were soft and full of sympathy.

ARC reviewers needed for Seducing Anne: SHROAG Novel 1

My scifi, historical erotica with BDSM, I was calling SHROAG 50, has since been renamed to Seducing Anne: A SHROAG Novel. It's the first book in this series of 3.

I'm looking for ARC reviewers. I'll be sending out ARC copies this Friday. If you like reading Tudor historical fictions, don't mind time travel with a Dom that has to seduce Anne Boleyn and impregnate her with Elizabeth I, then this might be the read for you.

Here's the summary, and a snippet, along with the usual warnings, so you can determine if you're interested in being an ARC reviewer:

Symptoms of time travel are never fun—ask Guy Moore. He just returned, and now he's being thrown back in time. His assignment? To impregnate Anne Boleyn. As an agent of SHROAG, he's completed more assignments than any other agent, and is ready to retire. Too bad Elizabeth I needs to be born to preserve history, and his DNA is the only one to do it. How will Guy seduce Anne, the woman who kept Henry VIII at arm's length for over seven years? And how will he keep from falling for her in his efforts?

“I will be there tonight—for you. Not for him. And I will touch you. If you do not want me to do that, then I will not be there,” Guy said.

She sucked in some air, and her gaze went up to the ceiling.

“Lavender lady—do you want me there? Do you want me to touch you in front of the King and everyone else?”

She remained mute and stoic.

“When you make a decision, find me. I will await your answer.” He dropped his grip, releasing her chin.

“Yes, Sir.”

“What was that? Are you saying I can touch you at dinner?”

“Yes, Sir,” she repeated.

His groin tightened. She really was sweet and very beautiful, and her submissiveness came to her naturally when she wasn’t struggling to fit herself into a man’s world.

“I will protect you. I will be there for you, and Henry will not touch you while I am around. If I am to play with you, then you are mine. No one else’s. I do not share, lady. So, when you are ready to take him as your lover, then you release me, and I will be gone from your life.”

She made a quiet whimpering noise and her eyes twisted as if in pain.

“Look at me—eyes on mine,” he said.

Her gaze roamed down to his.

“As your lord and Sir, you will always wear your hair down like this when you are around me. I want it soft, straight and virginal—pure like you. I want you always smelling of lavender and finding some way to please me each day, even if it is something small.”

She sagged for a moment. Were her knees buckling on her?

He gripped her by the upper arms. “Follow these guidelines, and I am at your disposal. Any time you need me, you ask, and I will be there.”

Her lips drifted into a small, but sweet, smile. “Thank you, Sir.”

“You are a naturally kind woman. Court life has hardened you—and I intend to undo that.”

Her face fell.

His hands on her arms loosened.

“That would be the death of me. We all have parts to play at court,” she said, her voice soft.

“And you have yours—serve and please me, and you will have everything you have ever desired. That I vow.”

There's nothing better than starting the weekend with free erotica, I say. ;D

Share the kinkiness! Your friends will thank you, and maybe pass you some lube and a rope... Or at least that's what my friends would do.

Knots is now live!

It's an exciting day for me. Knots is now live on Amazon!

This was the hardest novel I've written to date for various reasons. The biggest one was making sure I portrayed the BDSM lifestyle as accurately as I could, and also getting the Tongan/Hawaiian culture right as well, since I respect both so much.

So far, I've gotten nothing but very positive feedback on this story from my ARC reviewers and book bloggers that have read it, and I'm hopeful this positive trend will continue. :D

I have to thank all my many advisors and pre-readers, especially Sir and his girl for giving me endless feedback on this story, making sure I got it right. Their feedback has been invaluable, and I couldn't have written it without their help, so thank you!!!

If you want to read a BDSM Dom/sub love story that shows the softer side of the lifestyle and how tender and amazing it can be, this is the story for you! Go get a copy today!

Oh, yes... and please leave a review when you're done reading it so others will know what you thought about it! Enjoy!

An Author Interview by Reading My Escape

It was great to wake up on vacation today to find a fun pic from a friend on Facebook that reminded her of Kel from Sleeves. But it was also wonderful to wake up and find my interview with Daisy G. from Reading my Escape was posted.

She has some lovely things to say, and I really enjoyed being interviewed by her...

Only 6 more days until Knots is released! I can't wait to share it, especially after receiving such positive feedback from so many of my ARC reviewers.

Awww, that's always nice... Thank you, Ms. Book Blogger!

We all hate those women that "Ooooh" and "Ahhh" over anything and everything.

Well, this morning, I turned into one of them.

I woke up to a very sweet message from a book blogger, and she shared her review of Knots with me. I read it directly after waking, and even though my eyes were blurring, I could not mistake the big flashing black and white sign with neon trim that said the story was brilliant.

Check it out--I'm not lying: http://readingmyescape.wordpress.com/2013/10/08/arc-review-knots-by-chanse-lowell/

I actually said, "Awww, that's always nice," like a big ol' dork. I couldn't help myself. My brain wasn't quite pumping blood in it yet.

I love hearing that someone enjoyed a story I wrote, and even more than that, I like knowing it touched them in some way. She sent me a nice private message, and that made my morning even better.

I'm not sharing this to brag (well, maybe just a little because these types of morning are few and far between) but to say that I'm honestly amazed at the generosity and caring of people I come across as a writer that love to read. All too often we hear about the people that write up nasty reviews with pictures of dancing monkeys flinging their pooh at the writer's head or worse, pictures of some hot dude making a crazy face, tearing the book to shreds. I'm all for honesty, but it's so refreshing to have some honest, positive feedback.

It's because of the nasty ones that a lot of authors don't read their reviews. I admit, those can be pretty deflating, so I try to avoid them as well, but another reason I don't read my reviews is because they aren't meant for me. They're meant for other readers. I never want a reviewer to feel like I'm watching over their shoulder. I've actually seen on book bloggers websites where they explain what to do to submit a request for a book review, and they have to tell the authors they will not accept money to change their review to something glowing and full of lies.

Who does that? Who has the cash to do that type of thing, and why would they want to? I never want family or friends to review my works (not that they would, since they don't know I write erotica, but if they did...) because they'd feel obligated to coddle me and write up something fake just to make me feel good. I don't want that first grader pat on the head for what they might consider a hideous piece of art they feel obligated to hang on the fridge for a month, when in reality, they wish they could burn it.

So, this is why book bloggers are so vital, even though it's scary to approach them at times. They represent the impartial reader. They represent many of the nameless readers I will never meet. They are the voice that carries a book out to the masses. They do this for free. Wow. That amazes me that they love reading so much, they're willing to open their mouth, when I as a writer, am often petrified to do just that. Oh sure, I don't mind pimping out a book I've read that I adore, but to do that with my own work can be downright crippling at times.

I know how much time and energy I put into my work, and what it means to me. They have no idea if I threw it together carelessly or if I meticulously went through my story multiple times, relentless in my pursuit to clean it up and make it nice for their reading enjoyment. Which means they take a risk on an unknown author like me. Have I mentioned how much that means to me? How I'm in awe of them?

Daisy G had never met me before. She had no idea if I even know what an ellipses is and how to use it. But she was willing to give me a chance.

And so to her and all the book bloggers out there that work so tirelessly, this is my tribute to you. Without you, a lot of us indie authors would never get noticed at all.

Without you working your butt off to promote us and take the chance on us, we might never be heard.

And that's worth more than any money can buy.

Unfortunately, all I can do is say thanks, feel good I gave you my story for free, and share these little pics, because, honestly, who doesn't want to see this?

And, uh, I'm pretending this is the type of man the Desert Southwest breeds. I've got 10 more like him outside in my backyard, just hanging out next to my pet saguaro--he's such a good little pet. Better than my inanimate cactus, and more succulent, too. :D

Enjoy book bloggers. This is about the best I can do to show my gratitude. Wish I could buy you a steak dinner, and have Garrett Neff be your date. Maybe someday I'll decide I'm sick of looking at him, and then I'll send him your way...

Get that bra out of my face—I’m trying to write, dammit.

A writer’s life is hard. No one will really dispute this fact, but what the female erotica writers don’t tell you is that it’s even more difficult to write if your bra doesn’t fit right.

Yes, you heard me right. Writing suffers when bras are ill-fitted.

I’m sure you’re dying to know my story about bras and how it’s intimately hooked to my keyboard, so here goes…

Yesterday I received a box I’d been waiting on for a damn near-full week. I bought three bras that cost me nearly two hundred bucks. Outrageous! I have never paid this much for bras in my life. I was fed up with crappy Target bras that never really fit my 40DD needs. I bought three from Target last year, and one of them—my favorite traitorous bra—decided to let the underwire poke out from under my right arm pit. It wasn’t just chafing, it was pinching, and the worst part was when I was trying to write on my netbook I had to keep shifting away from my laptop to get comfy.

How dare my bra turn against me and my breasts and my writing? I was pissed off for a few days that it had tanked on me. Seriously—there’s no way to express how frustrated I was. So, after a week of denial that my bra was unsalvageable, I went online to look up said bra and buy myself three more replacements. Only… for the first time ever, Amazon didn’t have it. No one did. Was it discontinued? Did I buy a prototype that was never fully manufactured or what? I have no idea, but no one had this particular bra. I even went onto European websites thinking they would be progressive and understand my plight, other than the eternal boob sweat I must suffer through as a Phoenician.

Oh no! The European’s were not helpful. They didn’t understand what I needed either. What was I supposed to do?

Well, I braved a specialty website and found three bras that looked sturdy, pretty and writer worthy. I purchased them, and one of them was sixty dollars. I was sweating when I hit that purchase button. I’ve never in my life bought a bra over thirty-five dollars. It was time. It was time I treated my breasts to a treat, so I did.

Well, yesterday I tried those bras on. And damn it all—one of them gave me that sixties pointy-boobed look that makes me laugh hysterically. Oh, please no! The only look worse than that is the mono-bosom I read about in my historical eroticas from the early 1900’s in New York.

The second one I tried on—a nude colored bra, had the pokiest underwires between my cleavage I’ve ever felt. That sucker cost me forty-five dollars. No, no, no! Please, door number three—have the bra of my dreams.

I put the last one on, and guess what? It’s still not perfect, but it’s good. I finally sat yesterday comfortably at my computer, not writing mind you—even though I wanted to. I was doing marketing for Knots, and it didn’t hurt. Nothing was poking me. My chest was shelved away in my new contraption, and I was oblivious to it even being worn. That’s how my bra should be. It should be ignorant of my existence as well.

I’m still affronted my bras cost me more than dinner and a movie with hubs, but at least one of them loved my curves. A good bra I’ve come to learn is as important to my writing as my netbook. I can’t do it if I’m being poked and rubbed raw. And I can’t write if my netbook says no. Chanse loves BDSM the way her bra loves her breasts. All balance is restored in my household, and you can expect the smut to continue to flow.

Maybe someday I’ll start a female erotica writer’s bra support group, where their fans can help out. Instead of just sending fan mail and pics of hunky men’s rippling abs, they can do a web search for that author’s favorite hard to find bra.

Happy underwires to you all. May you be blessed with understanding bras and less boob sweat. Until next time, I hope you’ll have a good reading week. I’m still working my way through my turn of the century New  York obsession with or without the mono-bosom corsets. It all goes well with my new bra.

And if you ever track down the Bali B547 40DD bra, I will kiss your feet and then give you a spanking like you’ve never had, because, dammit—how come I couldn’t find it myself?

Shopping for bras sucks, but at least now I've maybe bought myself another year before I have to be involved that treacherous effort again...

The perils of guest blogging...

In my never-ending quest over the last week to find as many book bloggers as possible willing to read and review Knots, I find myself in a strange place. I’m about to guest blog on a BDSM book review blog.

I don’t think I’ve been this nervous since I gave birth for the first time. Thoughts assault me—all the what if’s. What if I screw up their blog so badly with my post that they lose all their followers? What if I say something dumber than usual (not likely, but ya never know)? What if the one and only Zach Braff Chicken Little was right and my sky really is falling (did you see Melancholia—it could happen)? What if the BDSM community comes after me with pitchforks—not because it’s fun and they enjoy it, but because I truly made a mockery of all they hold dear? What if I’m a poser and I don’t realize it? What if I’m the poster girl for bad guest bloggers anonymous? See? I have issues today . . .

There’s something frightening about going up against a panel of experts, and this feels like the Olympics for BDSM books. Will I score a 1.5 because my dismount was messy? Had to be the dismount, because my mother disguised as the East German judge gave me a score of… Oh wait. That’s one of my favorite holiday movies, When Harry Met Sally—not my life today.

Okay, so I make light, but really, I wonder if I’m capable of talking about my foray into the lifestyle. Will my experience matter to anyone else? Will they care about how long it took me to figure out who I was? Will it open discussion? Will it end third world hunger one thong and flogger at a time? Probably not, but I’ve discovered recently the reason I crave speaking to others in the lifestyle is because there’s this sense of understanding. No one judges anyone else for having different kinks or fixations. No one’s going to say I’m beyond repulsive because I’m an anal slut and have been for a long time. Not that they’ll want to compare anal bead sizes either, but still . . . You know what I mean.

Some of the absolute best people I’ve met have been in this lifestyle because of their open-mindedness and inclusive attitude. It doesn’t matter if I long to be tied up, gagged and thrown in a trunk—without bruising please and only after the trunk’s been vacuumed out, ‘cause it gets dirty in there. They get that a fantasy is healthy, and that there’s an art to living them out.

So, does that make guest blogging any easier? A little. It’s nice to know their whips won’t be aimed at me punitively. Where else in life can I find that? As a writer, I get flayed from time to time about my writing through negative reviews. There are always going to be reviewers that have no qualms about making dancing pictures with their derogatory words that say, “WTF was this? This writer is crazy, yo!” And all the while, they laugh.

That’s fine. I try to avoid those the way I do a frothing-mouthed pit bull, chasing down people in the street. No thanks. I’ll take my pain with a side of orgasm instead.

So, the moral here is this—only guest blog when caught up in a moment of insanity. Only tie up your partner when they’re sleep deprived and horny as hell, unless you’re in the lifestyle and trained. Only eat Rice Krispies after putting sugar on it—the plain stuff is, well… not quite vanilla, but just boring. And only—I repeat—only read this current post because you want to feel my pain. Last of all—only watch Melancholia if you want to experience what a current day, acid trip might be like (this movie is disturbing in so many ways and odder than I can express—Kirsten Dunst couldn’t save it, and neither could Keifer Sutherland).

Crossing fingers I survive this guest blogging thingy. *toothy grin* Enjoy your weekend. I’ll be stewing over my guest post. ;D

Knots feedback

Well, it's been a week since the ARCs went out, and I'm still contacting book bloggers to get the word out even more about Knots.

I thought I'd share some of the fun responses I've been getting so far:

  • Today I got a tweet from a book blogger 31% in that said everytime Sir speaks, she gets dizzy. Lol! Loved this one. Short, sweet, to the point, and most of all, thrilling. Yes! Love it!

  • This one is from one of my new permanent ARC reviewers, but before Sleeves, I hadn't ever met her before. I had put up on some of the Goodreads groups that belong to that I was looking for reviewers, and she responded. Here's what she told me in email (I got permission to share this):

Hey Chanse,

My god how do you it, write these great books.  I started immediately and could not put them away and now I'm sorry that it ended already, but I would love to have read more that they had munchkins :o)

I don't usually read my reviews unless one of my reviewers asks me to, and she asked me to do just that, so I reviewed it. She blew me away with how much she enjoyed it.

  • This one is from one of my pre-readers who's a submissive and has been in the lifestyle for 15 years. I'd never met her before this story. I found her on one of my BDSM Goodreads groups and asked her to pre-read and give feedback. Here's what she had to say (I also got permission to share this as well):
Hi Chanse,
I loved your book. Fabulous story, amazing concept. Dominant was very believable, secure , trusting, whilst gently leading. Submissive was very much a natural submissive as you make clear to people in the lifestyle. Although those outside would think that it wasn't a choice, you're only born sub, although we know you can choose to submit.

Overall, the BDSM was amazingly accurate, as you said you know the lifestyle. You have not portrayed it wrong. He's an amazingly caring Dom.

While I know not everyone's going to have glowing reviews for my book/books, I'm pleased that it has reached some people that have enjoyed it.

I can't wait to publish it on October 18th!
