Knots ARCs sent out today

ARCs went out today for Knots. I'm happy to give more of them out for free in either epub or mobi. All I ask in exchange is that you post an honest review on Goodreads, at this link:

And then post your review on Amazon after it's published on October 18th. If you're interested, contact me. Here's the summary:

Jeanie's life has been turned upside down. She's lost her husband at an early age and with him, her way. An offer from a man she's avoided, a man that was her husband’s best friend, may be the only thing that can bring light back into her life. Mark isn't like most men. His dominant nature helps him see a different side of Jeanie: a submissive woman with a deep capacity to love and please a man. But having a relationship with him so soon after her husband’s death causes strife with her in-laws; the only family she knows. Can Mark set her free, or will she walk away, missing out on the chance for an all-encompassing love?

WANTED: 15 more ARC reviewers and 10 book bloggers for Knots, BDSM love story

Knots ARCs should be going out this Friday. I'd still like to have 15 more ARC reviewers and if anyone has any book bloggers/reviewers they follow regularly, be it on Goodreads or just through their blog, and they review BDSM love stories frequently, send the suggestions my way.

I've got a few I intend to contact myself, but I'm always curious to see who others follow for rec's on a good BDSM love story. My favorite indie author, #KallypsoMasters has done amazingly well, so I may have to go see which book bloggers review her works when they come out, although, mine has no military, so we'll see if I can find some that will fit for my story.

Here's the summary again for Knots in case you're unsure if you'd be interested in being an ARC reviewer or not:

Knots ARCs to go out this week

Great news! I just got through my editors final editing suggestions. I'm waiting back on one more set of pre-readers who've said they should be back to me in a few days. After I get through their suggestions, then they'll go out. I'm thinking Friday you'll have one if you signed up for it. If you're interested, just let me know and I'll put you on the list...

Meet Guy Moore--SHROAG 50 visuals

Most people know who Henry Cavill is since he recently played Superman and got a whole new bod for the role, but before that, he was the amazing, drool-worthy Charles Brandon on the Tudors. Now, I'm a Jonathan Rhys Meyer's fan, but as soon as I saw Cavill, I remember thinking, "Who is that? Wow! He should be playing the King!"

He's been the man I've had in my head for Guy Moore for years now as this story was bumping around upstairs. He's charming, handsome and a little dangerous. Perfect for my man that can win Anne Boleyn from the King.

Just in case you don't know who Henry Cavill is, let me share...

SHROAG 50 visuals

Meet Garrett Neff, if you haven't already. He's a model, and he's who I picture as my Nicholas Carew in SHROAG 50 and SHROAG 51.

In some of these pictures he has lighter colored hair, so you'll just have to imagine he has dark brown hair. Although, I doubt most of us are looking at stuff like that when there's too much other yumminess before us...

He's my current obsession. There's this amazing little short film with him that took my breath away, and then I knew he was my guy for my story. I'd post it here, but there's nudity in it and I'd like to avoid pornographic images on my site. If you're interested in seeing it, all you have to do is type in this man's name, look under Google images, and you'll find it. It's called Mine.

My book review for Discipling the Duchess: an amazing story with an early version of a Dom

Disciplining the Duchess
I absolutely had to share this book review with my readers here since some of you know with my stories like Breaking Blood on Alabaster, and my upcoming story coming out in November, SHROAG 50, along with my story, Pearl on Cherry, also coming out in the fall, I've been exploring and have been obsessed for months with what an early, rudimentary version of a Dom would be like. Well, I finally found another writer's version of this very thing, and I was mesmerized. This story is not for the faint of heart by any means, but if you're fine with angsts, like your historical fiction to include BDSM themes and a lot of spanking, then this story is one you might enjoy. It's one of my all-time favorites, it's that tasty and raw... With that being said, here's my Goodreads review I left today for this story.

Disciplining the Duchess by Annabel Joseph
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Have you ever read a story and it rang through your core so deeply, it felt like a lover? Well, that’s exactly what this book did to me. The writing was that brilliant! The last book to make my toes curl was Tender Mercies by Kitty Thomas. This one, though—holy hell—it seriously had me damn near hyperventilating several times, it was that ingenious and perfect. Every aspect of both of the main characters spoke to me on a very primal level and I think I experienced every emotion that exists as I read this story. I loved this mix of historical fiction with BDSM. They fit very well even though the combination sounds odd—kind of like Court and Harmony.

Harmony was like the Bridget Jones of the regency period, which I identify with completely. And Court. Oh, Court, how my heart doth swoon for thee! He is the early embodiment of a primal Dom. This story was exactly what I’ve been obsessing over for months—the possible origins of the Dom. Yum! I’ve written a few stories about that very theme, so this was like a balm to my searching soul. I wanted to read someone else’s take on it, and I was not disappointed at all.

I have to admit, the very first chapter was tedious for me and kind of dragged, so much so that I kept picking it up, setting it back down for a week or 2 and then tried it again. That went on for a few weeks, and I’d set it aside, work on writing a book I was going to publish soon, then I’d read something else, then go back to it. Boy, am I glad I continued on. I told myself to give it at least 5 chapters, and once I got to the scene where he danced with Harmony, I was hooked. In fact, when I finally got to the dance scene, I read the entire book from that point on in less than 24 hours. I couldn’t sleep until I finished it, even though my eyes were burning and I was exhausted. I just couldn’t step away. It was impossible to stop reading it!

All of the spanking was nothing short of delicious. The honeymoon night was off the charts H.O.T! She was so innocent and so uninhibited, it made him unleash like mad. I loved how torn he was over pleasing society and being the proper Duke, and loving his wife unconditionally regardless of all of her quirks. He was very much duty bound and had been raised to strictly adhere to certain principles and values, and so her quirks threw him at times. She was a history buff who loved to read and longed to visit historical sites. Yes, I felt like I was Harmony every bit of the way, even though I’m a pretty good dancer, and she was a clod on the dance floor. I’m that way with all sports, so I felt her plight completely. Her self-esteem was so low, due to the whole ton always picking on her, and for being basically a spinster at the age of 23, having never entertained a beau. Loved her!!!! She no longer cared about her reputation since she had no prospects, and her brother was awful to her, so all she cared about was history, dammit, and she would stop at nothing to fill her mind with books that would create never-ending questions in her mind.

The visit to Hadrian’s wall was priceless, along with her reaction to finding an eyelash on Court’s cheek and whisking it away with her gloved finger only to tell him to make a wish (that came before the wall, though, btw). He never knew how to react her. She made all his defenses come crashing down because of her wild imagination and childlike creativity. God, I loved her! I adored his nickname for her as well—Miss Chaos. Fit her perfectly! And it was one of the reasons she kept telling him he shouldn’t marry her, and there was no need for them to adhere to conventions since nothing happened when he had to stay overnight at the Inn with her, albeit in their own separate rooms, without a chaperon. She absolutely knew she’d be a disaster and embarrass him at every turn since with the exception of her father, she could never please a man. I felt that deep in my heart, since this has been my experience most of my life as well. Man, she was like my long lost twin from a distant past and another country.

He was her protector. He was her fierce lover that would do anything at all to please her in the bedroom. Gah! Can I bite his ass now after he spanks mine? He was so freaking hot and so just so entirely MALE! Every time after he’d spank her, he’d make love to her and ravage her so completely, they were both boneless afterward. I was feeling it, too. Oh yeah! I couldn’t believe it when he started their honeymoon night with a spanking, “to foster a sense of closeness between them.” I was skeptical, but damn. I wished now my honeymoon night had played out exactly like that. It was erotic and so damn naughty, I loved every second of it. Her reactions of “Oh no!” repeatedly when she’d get aroused, garnered more sighs from me and swoons because he was such a skilled lover. It was the right mix of sweet and naughty from both.

There were times I felt almost like I was reading the story of what Gone with the Wind should have been like behind the scenes. Like this was the story we didn’t get to see but all wanted. That story has been a favorite since I was a teen. Rhett should have taken lessons from Court—spank her, dammit. You’ll both feel so much better afterward when your headstrong wife gets out of control because she does not see bounds or limits. She only sees a challenge she must conquer. And he only sees a woman that makes him wild with desire that he can’t for the life of him resist, though he can’t explain it.

Even when they were driving each other nuts, you could still feel the passion. And even when they made poor decisions, from their perspective, upbringing and societal pressures, all of it made perfect sense to me. The times when she became despondent and was almost walking around like a zombie, trying to become what she thought he wanted, had my heart ripping out of my chest because I knew it was killing both of them. That’s how invested I was in these characters, that when they almost destroyed each other and themselves, I was still rooting for both of them, having absolute faith they’d find a way to get through it together and find peace and happiness in the end.

Perfection! This is one of my all-time favorites. I loved it so much I had to buy Lily Mine since I read that was a historical piece by this same author with spanking as well. Can’t wait! Oh, but that is after I re-read this gem. I’ve already gone over the honeymoon scene. Couldn’t resist.

I also have to say, I loved the crotchety old mother-in-law and how she picked on Harmony when they were face-to-face and then defended her to Court behind her back. Isn’t that the truth? This woman was jealous and admitted it later because her marriage had been fairly tragic with a cheating husband whom she loved dearly and simply couldn’t please when he was living. Loved how things turned out for her in the end as well.

Here are some of my absolute favorite lines:

*In this scene his mother complains to him about Harmony reading incessantly*

“She spends hours in there, reading!”
“Horrifying,” he murmured. “If she does not take care, she may learn something.”

*This scene is where Court is dealing with her insisting she go see Hadrian’s wall*
“I would lend you my coach but my mother is using it to call on acquaintances,” he said. “I’ll hire one at the inn.”
“What if you can’t?” came her small voice.
“There are very few things I can’t do.”

(Uh, yeah. He said that more than once, and I was panting every damn time.)

Seriously—this book was amazing. I’m still reeling over it, and I’m so glad I bought it on a whim, based on another reader recommending it in one of my groups I belong to. I am now a fan of Annabel Joseph and will checking out more of her books soon!

Slick as Ides teaser 25

Tomorrow Slick as Ide's goes live! I'll share the link tomorrow!

Ides and Vapor from Chapter 25:

“You’re doing this to help me get over my fears, aren’t you?”

“Who me?” I smack my lips at her.

“Yes, you, asshole. Who else would I be talking about?”

She kisses me, holds me and I let go of her with a whine. “I wanted to fuck.”

“Yes, you’re breathing, so, yes, you want to fuck.” She stands up and straightens her black shirt. “Maybe I should change. The rest of the women presenting will probably be in skirts and heels and nice blouses.”

“The rest of them can eat shit, because they suck monkey balls compared to you. Wear what you’ve got on. I like it. It’s you, and you’re comfortable, so you’ll be able to relax better.” I pinch her ass.

Slick as Ides teaser 24

Two more days until Slick as Ides goes live! Can't believe it!

Ides and Vapor from Chapter 24:

“Only because you’re still an asshole and won’t let me clean up afterward. I suppose I should kiss your ass for allowing me to wear my dental floss, rainbow colored panties?” She flutters her eyelashes at me on purpose and then pinches my nipples. “I liked the condoms. It contains the mess better. It’s not like you gave it a real chance anyway. You only did it for a week.”

“A week of hell . . .”

She pinches my nipples harder this time.

“God, girl, I bruise like a peach—careful with my chest,” I joke, then pull her down to me, removing her hands off my chest.

“I really do bruise like a peach. Stop making fun of me.” She smiles with a devious look, bites my lower lip and sucks it into her mouth with a loud groan.

I quicken my thrusts and grip her ass, holding her down so I can control the speed and depth.

“Fuck, I love how tight you get when I hold you down like this. Do it, girl. Squirt.”

“No way.” She shakes her head.

I smack her ass. “Do it! I need it. Soak me.”

I smack her ass twice more. “Why not?”

“I told you why last night. I don’t want to do that in a hotel. I can’t stand the thought of some poor maid having to clean up what might be piss. You know they don’t have time to shampoo mattresses. It’s repulsive to think of someone else lying on this bed tonight.” She grimaces.

“Oh, those poor unsuspecting douchebags, lying in your come. Poor them. Boo fucking hoo.” I pretend to cry.

Slick as Ides submitted for publishing

I finished the final proofreading today on Slick as Ides, and it's now been submitted to Amazon. I should hear back from them in 24 to 48 hours and then I'll have a link. Can't wait!

Slick as Ides teaser 23

Ides and Vapor from Chapter 23:

“Would you rather squirt all over his upholstery back here or have me shave those dirty, germ-infested pubes for you?” He wiggles his eyebrows.

“Neither. This is absolutely hideous to even think about!” I say, my voice going up about two octaves, and in this enclosed space, it sounds shaky and weak, though it’s loud.

“Not a choice. If you decide to give me what you call your piss, then I’ll lick it all off these leather seats afterward. And you’ll be released so you can go inside, grab the black light and come back out to do a better job of cleaning it off. If you choose to be shorn"—he chuckles at his silly word, shorn—“then I’ll come back out here and vacuum them up, but you know it’ll be hard to get them all. I might miss some, and then your DNA will be in here for forensic scientists to find and future car thieves as well.” Once more with the wiggly, flirty brows.

“This is sick!” I tip my head back and rest it on the car door. For some stupid reason I’m grinning like an imbecile.

His creativity for lunacy like this is astounding, and God love him, I can’t help but want him more for it.

He pulls off his shirt and stuffs it behind my back. “For cushioning,” he explains.

“Yeah, ‘cause you’re all sorts of gentlemanly right now.” I snort, then chuckle, shaking my head.

“Damn right, I am. Now, which shall it be, my sexy girl?” He wears a lopsided smirk. It makes my stomach flip.

Bzzzzzzzzz . . .

He turns on the clippers, and I cringe.

Slick as Ides teaser 22

Ides and Vapor from Chapter 22:

I can’t stand it. “C’mere. I need you in my arms.” I take a seat on the couch and pull her down into my lap. “I have no idea where you come up with all this stuff, but I love your take on things. It puts me in a very flattering light—one I’m afraid I don’t deserve.” I nuzzle my nose into her hair and take deep breaths.

“What don’t you get, that you think you don’t deserve it?”

“How in the hell did Riot get what he wanted?” I stroke down her back. “I’m glad you think that, since I know he’s your friend and you don’t want to hurt him, but I was anything but helpful to him.” Another deep whiff and my head buzzes with the scent of her.

“Do you know what he said to me after we left the court room?”

“No. I wanted to follow you, monitor you somehow, but I was dealing with my jerkoff of a father,” I answer.

“Riot said you did that all for me as a show.” She curls around my body, hangs onto my shoulders. “I slapped his face, and I left.”

Slick as Ides teaser 21

Ides and Vapor from Chapter 21:

“Hi, Mr. Vapor.”

I eye my woman. “Mr. Vapor? Who told them to call me that?”

She giggles, covering her mouth as she does, then she tosses her arms around me and kisses me with a freedom I’ve never seen from her in public before. “I did. I thought you’d like it—being the big man and all. They’re showing respect—see? I do listen.”

“Shit woman, I’ll fuck you right now and show them exactly who has the biggest balls here—so stop tempting me with your smart-ass mouth and hot body.” I kiss her, and hold her tight. “This place is like you—it turns me on.”

Slick as Ides teaser 20

Ides and Nick from Chapter 20:

“Animal’s piss here,” she reminds me, glancing at the deck.

“And Nick comes here in his girl—no exceptions, so you can shut up now.”

“You’ll bathe me after in hand sanitizer,” she warns.

“I’ll hose you down with rubbing alcohol if it means you’ll let me fuck you now—no more waiting.” I bare my teeth at her and growl like an animal.

She giggles and it makes my cock knock into her hip bone.

I slide down lower, line my body up with hers and consider where else she might be wearing pink.

All at once, I can’t take it anymore.

“I can’t . . . I can’t get it,” I say, trying to rip the rest of her clothes off, but my hands are shaking so bad, I can’t do it. “God, let there be little pink panties in here.”

SHROAG 50 rough draft completed

"Hear ye, hear ye--SHROAG 50's rough draft is now completed!"

I just finished writing it, with the exception of a scene I left out on purpose for my pre-readers that takes place in the final chapter. I thought I'd wait until I get their feedback on the rest of the story before I wrote that particular scene. I also need to write chapter 1 of SHROAG 51, since I want to include that in the story, as the lead up to the next one. Other than that, I'll be proofing it tonight, sending it off to my pre-readers tomorrow and then to my editor hopefully by next week.

Can't wait to share this one. It's been in my brain for years. I can't believe it's now out of my head and on my computer. Such a relief. This was kind of my culmination--or crowning achievement in my eyes. It was to see if I really could combine all my passions into one whirlwind romance with some swashbuckling adventure. I love how the rough draft turned out. ;D

I can honest say, that hands down, Guy is my absolute favorite alpha male I've ever written. He's incredibly strong and romantic. He just oozes masculinity from every pore. Whew! *fans self*

This novel is due to come out in November. More news and teasers to come in the near future! If you're interested in being an ARC reviewer, don't be shy. Let me know. I've started compiling a list already.

Slick as Ides teaser 19

Ides and Westin phone conversation from Chapter 19:

“Just get over here. I’m not kidding.” Nick yells some profanities in the background, and Westin chuckles. “You hearing this asshole? Get over here or there won’t be a wall still in place. He’s already busted a chair. He’s fucking pissed. I’ve been hiding out on the deck. Fucker’s got a temper on him.”

“Don’t worry. He wouldn’t ever hurt you.” I smile.

“Yeah, yeah, easy for you to say when you’re miles away and carry around his favorite pair of boobs. I don’t have anything to offer him other than my fist, and I don’t like using them unless I absolutely have to.”

Slick as Ides teaser 18

Ides and Westin phone conversation from Chapter 18:

“Hiya, miss me already? Or did he need his ass wiped?” He chuckles.

“What did you give him? He’s not rousing,” I ask.

Rousing? Around you? Not possible. That fucker’s always horny just thinking about ya.” More laughter.

“I’m serious—he looks half-dead. Did you give him something to put him out?”

“It was only a little bit. He kept trying to scream and struggle, and I was worried someone would hear, plus, you know I can’t stand the thought of anyone getting hurt,” he explains.

“What the fuck did you do?” My voice goes up in pitch and yet it goes quieter.

“I gave him the good stuff,” he says.

“Are you shitting me? You gave him date rape drugs?”

“Hey, he told me he’s fucked you a few times while you were sleeping. Time to return the favor, right?”

“Shit, Westin. He has to be hard for me to even be able to do something like that, and I don’t know how I’m gonna get that when he’s zonked out.”

He chokes on something—sounds like he’s drinking some fluid. “Shit, woman, you don’t know men very well, do you? Some stroking, some sucking, and it won’t matter if he’s in a coma. His dick won’t know he’s out of it.”

“You really are sick,” I say.

Slick as Ides teaser 17

Ides and Jason phone conversation from Chapter 17:

“When did he leave? Is he okay?” I pace in the bathroom, locked away, even though I’m on my own.

“Uh . . .” There’s some movement and a few more key strokes. “He left about two hours ago. He should be arriving soon. I don’t know which hotel he’ll pick though. He’s about as predictable as a parachuting gorilla—and those fuckers hurt if they land on you.”

I laugh. “I usually like monkeys rather than gorillas. They’re smaller.”

“And I give a fuck because . . . ?”

I laugh harder. “You’re such a dick.” I sit on the floor since the toilet seat is off limits until I’ve scrubbed that thing down.

Slick as Ides teaser 16

Nick and Jason from Chapter 16:

When I’m all packed and ready to go, I simply wave at Jason and tell him, “Later, man.”

“Hey, your dad’s on his way.” He glances at my hand on the strap.

“Good for him,” I reply.

“He’s pissed. You better stick around.” He motions with his chin at my bag slung over my right shoulder.

“I don’t give a fuck if he’s shitting lightning bolts, I’m leaving.” I pull the bag tighter into my body.

“He knows . . .”

“Knows what?” I groan and roll my eyes, stretching my neck.

“He knows you’ve been following her again.”

And?” I motion with my hand for him to hurry up and tell me whatever it is he has to say.

“And, he already told you to keep away from her. What do you think you’re doing, following her all the time again? I mean, shit, she’s just buying groceries. What’s so great about watching her shop? You want her to get killed over this?”

Slick as Ides teaser 15

Ides and her father from Chapter 15:

“I wasn’t sure you got my letters,” he says, blinking back at me, his face pale and his voice soft.

His hands stretch out on the table before me.

“I got them, and I’m here. I know you hate me, but I had to come,” I tell him.

He holds his breath and then exhales in a rush. “I don’t hate you at all. God, Jesus, I . . . I was a shitty father to you, and I regret that every single day. How was I ever supposed to face you after I tried to kill you?”

“You and I both know if you’d wanted to kill me, you would’ve. Your bullet missed me on purpose.” I lean back in my chair to create a little bit of distance.

“Well, you know I do have good aim, but I was . . . Hell, I don’t know what I was. I just knew the cops were coming, and it was your fault.”

SHROAG 50 update

I've been writing SHROAG 50 all week. It was a slow writing week because there were a lot of interruptions with real life, but I am hoping to be done writing it by Monday. There are 18 chapters outlined and last night I finished writing chapter 11. The total word count up to this point is around 57K.

Here's a small teaser from chapter 6. It's a conversation between Guy and Anne:

“Sweet woman—you possess me.”

“That is not a compliment.” She smiled, though, as she said it.

“It is when you consider what it truly means.” His will was shredding with each touch. “What can I do to help you, Anne? I did not mean to make a mess of your life.”

“You did no such thing. It was all complicated before you arrived.” She sighed with a resigned expression. “Harry is an—”

“Asshole,” he said, sighing. “That man does not deserve you or this kingdom.”

She went rigid, then in the next moment—it was like she melted on the spot as his words took root in her heart.

“No one ever speaks of him that way,” she reminded him.

“And why should I care what other people do or think?” He wrapped his fingers around her waist. She kept dabbing at his feverish brow, not shying away from his touch, so he went on. “I only care what you think.”

Slick as Ides teaser 14

Nick and Stephen conversation from Chapter 14:

When I pull up in Dad’s driveway, he exits the garage and glowers. “Helmet, Son. Is it so hard to follow the rules of safety?”

“Is it so hard to stop stealing her ideas and come up with your own shit, you patronizing son of a bitch?”

He chuckles, and I shove my hands in my pockets.

“Get off that fucking stupid bike and come inside. I wanna talk to you before the meeting,” he says, waving me in.

I turn the bike off, swing my leg around, set the kickstand down and follow him inside like an enormous, pitiful tool.

He opens the door to his office, and the second he breathes my direction and says her name, I’m flipping him off.

“Charming as always.” He smirks. “Please, set aside the trite angry white guy routine, and listen to me for a few seconds.”

“Why should I? You don’t give a shit that she’s my life.”

“Your life? You haven’t been following her around for the last week,” he says, leaning forward. “Seems to me you’re over her this time.”

“Been fucking busy,” I say through a tight jaw.

“Too busy you’re loafing around your house and sleeping all day? I’ve been over there several times. Either you’re so hammered you have to crash hard, or you’re avoiding something having to do with her. This isn’t normal for you. I’m worried about it,” he says, studying me.

Slick as Ides teaser 13

Vapor and Ides from Chapter 13:

“I swear to God, Ides, I’ve lost my patience . . .”

“Why? You had an orgasm. I thought you were supposed to roll over and go to sleep after,” I tease. “You’re breaking the rules in the man book. They put men in a whole new category when they do that.”

“When have I ever gone to sleep after? Holy fuck—you’d think you’ve never been in bed with me and my insatiable dick. That was the appetizer. Fuck, it was more like cocktails since you were in charge. I’m not even halfway done with you. Get your sexy ass out here now, and I promise I won’t lick it much.”

“Promise not to lick it at all, and I’ll come out.” My arms break out in chills as I continue to secure my prize away.

He wants to lick me . . . there?

Why do I love that even though it’s revolting

Slick as Ides teaser 12

Vapor and Riot from Chapter 12:

“What the hell do you want?” A gun is pointed in my face and the door is wide open.

“I just wanna talk to her,” I say, out of breath, my hands up in the air.

“She doesn’t want to see you anymore. I’m here to protect her, and protect her I will. She’s locked up in her cave right now anyway and can’t be disturbed,” he says.

“Riot, c’mon, man. You know I won’t hurt her.” I breathe hard. Just being this much closer to her has me hard as hell.

“Yeah, you’ll just fuck her until she can’t think straight anymore. She’s been working feverishly since she’s locked you out. She’s been doing some of her best work ever,” he snarls.

Knots (contemporary BDSM)
Jeanie's life has been turned upside down. She's lost her husband at an early age and with him, her way. An offer from a man she's avoided, a man that was her husband’s best friend, may be the only thing that can bring light back into her life. Mark isn't like most men. His dominant nature helps him see a different side of Jeanie—a submissive woman with a deep capacity to love and please a man. But having a relationship with him so soon after her husband’s death causes strife with her in-laws—the only family she knows. Can Mark set her free, or will she walk away, missing out on the chance for an all-encompassing love?

Slick as Ides teaser 11

Ides and Stephen conversation from Chapter 11:

“But what does it do?” Mr. Reid asks.

“Well, seeing as how you had it stolen, I figured you already knew.” I wipe the sweat off the back of my neck.

My knees are locked, and my breathing is shallow. He stands entirely too close, and I can barely think about why I’m here.

He gives me a knowing look, as if he can tell I’m a bundle of nervous energy and scared to death of him.

“Why do you hate me?” I blurt.

“I don’t. I’ve never disliked you, but you’re not good enough for my son. He deserves better.” He strokes my device. “Now, tell me what this does.”

“First tell me why I can’t see him anymore,” I demand.

He blinks and offers a serpentine smile. “Do you know who you’re talking to?”

“Y-yes, sir. But I don’t see why you sent him after me only to later tell me if I came near him again or allowed him to be around me, you’d kill me.” I gulp and shift away from him.

His eyes light up. “I wanted to teach him a lesson.”

Slick as Ides teaser 10

Nick and Jason conversation from Chapter 10:

“I’m surprised she hasn’t broken in here and taken back what you stole from her,” he says, continuing to tinker.

“She knows I wouldn’t keep it here, just like she wasn’t keeping it at her place.” I circle around him once more.

“Stop the fucking pacing. You’re making me nervous. Go get a beer or somethin’.”

“I can’t drink. She doesn’t do that shit. She wouldn’t want me to,” I say, gripping the edge of the table now instead of my body, still moving in on his space.

“The things you know about her without actually spending any time with her other than stealing her stuff and fucking her . . . Well, it’s disturbing.” He stretches his back for a moment.

I chuckle. “She’s probably watching me, too.”

“Don’t flatter yourself. A genius like her is not going to waste time using surveillance on your pathetic ass. She knows what you’re doing without watching.”

Slick as Ides teaser 9

Ides and Riot phone conversation from Chapter 9:

He’s on my roof.

I yawn, then call up Riot.

“What’s he doing now?” he answers the call. He sounds half-dead.

“He’s trying to break in, unsuccessfully.” My gut tightens at the thought of letting Nick in and what he might do to me when he’s this worked up into a frenzy. What sinfully delicious things he might do and document by filming. That man is kinky as hell.

My pussy swears that’s the case as well, as I change my underwear again.

Just having him prowling around out there is doing some fucked up things to me.

My breasts are painful, and my nipples are so tight and rubbing on my bra it’s maddening. Is there no relief?

“This isn’t a game,” he tells me.

“I know, but it is to him.”

He sighs. “He broke into my home today.”
